CONFUSION: Anytime a horse stops feeling of you, he’s getting confused and he may appear cranky. So long as he’s feeling of you, he’s not going to be confused and a lot of undesirable things won’t even develop.
In this picture, the horses are confused about what’s expected of them. These people are doing their best, and in most cases a person will try to do that. But these people are confused about what’s taking place and they aren’t sure what to do either.
My first approach to things is straight line left brain especially when trying something the very first time, trying to follow the instructions or goal of a thing. That's good for somethings but can lead to confusion for me when working with horses and I am trying to get a pattern or task done. I am like a horse cause when something isn't working the way I think it should, I can't think what to differently and I barrel through. So even though I feel it going wrong, I miss the opportunities to help myself and the horse. Because I don't know what to do next. But with a good coach watching and they see where I pushed thru and remind me to use feel and give me a hint or two it is like they gave me permission to slow down. Then I when I feel things getting rushed and tense I can deviate from my task a bit do something the horse and I know like a circle. When the tension leaves, we return and complete it just fine and that sure works out better for me and the horse. And hopefully , like a horse I have added to my foundation and basics to rely on.
